We’ll help you bring your “food miles” down with homegrown, organic fruits and vegetables. All of our gardens start with a one-hour consultation, where we learn about your vision, discuss the basics of organic edible gardening, and survey your land.
Once we dream up a vision for your edible landscape together, we can fully install your garden, offer a Garden Kit to set it up yourself, or provide you with a customized DIY Garden booklet so you can use our expertise to build the whole garden yourself.
Book Your Consultation
Once you book your consultation, we’ll set up a meeting as soon as possible to visit your site. We serve all of Franklin County including Columbus and the surrounding suburbs and neighborhoods (Dublin, Worthington, Hillard, Gahanna, Bexley, New Albany, Grove City, etc.)
Site Visit
The site visit begins with a tour of your landscape and a discussion about your goals and vision for your edible garden. At the site visit, you’ll get:
A 15-page intensive, customizable seasonal planting guide
A Full Site & Sun Analysis
A Collaborative design session to discuss preference on trellises, raised bed styles and location, and more
Clean design options & recommendations to fit your style and budget
Design & Plan
After the consultation, we’ll prepare a landscape drawing of your preferred Edible Garden Design for new gardens or a customized Garden Action Plan for existing gardens. You’ll also receive an estimate for any additional services, materials, and installation costs.
Before we prepare an estimate, you’ll let us know what level of installation you prefer:
Full Installation: The majority of our clients enjoy full installation services. Upon approval, Columbus Foodscapes handles every aspect of your edible garden installation, including the removal of existing vegetation and hardscape, any construction and installation of raised beds, any irrigation installation, trellis and arbor installation, and installation of plants & seeds based on your tastes & needs (we’ll even handle plant tags!).
Garden Kit: Some of our clients prefer to do the work themselves and simply order materials and coaching from us. If you choose a Garden Kit level of installation, we’ll deliver all the materials you need to install your garden. In your kit, you can expect to get all pre-constructed raised beds, soil and/or soil amendments, trellises, plants, and seeds, along with a step-by-step guide and a Planting Plan for how to install your new garden.
Customized DIY Edible Garden Guide: If you’re a true “DIY”er and you have the know-how and equipment for building and gardening projects, we offer a Customized DIY Edible Garden Guide so you can either build your own garden from scratch or fix up your current raised beds. A DIY Edible Garden Guide includes crucial information you need to build a garden from the ground up, including a Planting Plan, a step-by-step guide on how to build a raised bed & install trellises, where to source materials like soil and gravel locally, how to calculate how much of each item you’ll need, and more.
Project Approval & Installation
We know the garden season waits for no one, so once you approve of your Garden Project, we’ll work to deliver your preferred method of installation as soon as possible.
Full Installation: We’ll get started on building your customized raised beds as quickly as possible (for new gardens) and schedule the installation within two to four weeks of your approval. You can expect the installation, from start to finish, to take between 1-4 days, depending on the project.
Garden Kit: We’ll deliver your materials and step-by-step assembly guide as soon as possible and will be available by the hour as your Garden Coach whenever you need assistance with the install.
Customized DIY Guide: Your customized DIY Edible Gardening Guide will be deliver to your inbox within a week of project approval so you can get started on your garden project right away. If at any time you feel overwhelmed, we’re happy to adjust your estimate and offer our services to partially or fully install the garden or offer additional guidance as your Garden Coach.

For full installations, we’ll walk you through the entire garden so you know what’s growing and offer some tips & tricks to ensure a delicious bounty! All Columbus Foodscapes gardens receive exclusive edible gardening resources to ensure gardening success.
We offer our clients several maintenance packages including bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly services, and specialty garden make-overs. Maintenance services allow you to enjoy the light tending and harvests of your edible garden without feeling overwhelmed, and most of our clients enjoy the quarterly service for new compost and plants at the start of each season.

New Garden Consultation & Design
A New Garden Consultation is an in-depth & in-person 1 hour session that offers foundational gardening knowledge, a site analysis, a clear garden design, and multiple installation options to fit your budget and needs.
We’ll help you transform your space into a productive culinary garden and work with you every step of the way to make your garden dreams come to life. Whether you have a large yard for multiple raised beds or teeny patio for a potted garden, we comes with the expertise and know-how to help you grow a bounty of fresh, organic produce.
Here’s what you can expect from your New Garden Consultation:
– A Full Site Analysis & collaborative design session for a raised bed or in-ground garden design
– Our 15-page, comprehensive seasonal planting calendar
– A Design Deliverable: a to-scale landscape design of the proposed Kitchen Garden Design (up to 600 square feet) or a landscape design of a perennial in-ground edible garden (up to 200 square feet). Additional space can be included in design for a fee.
– A comprehensive estimate for any additional services, supplies, materials, and installation
– Collaborative re-designs to target your vision and budget
